Kaitlyn Baumgras
Counselor (A-K)
Hello Jaguars! I am so excited to join the amazing team of educators here at Burkholder. I am Burkholder's school counselor for students with last names beginning with letters A-L!I became a school counselor in the 2021 school year--I appreciate your patience as I navigate this new position. I have six years of experience teaching grades 4 & 5 in the district, prior to me becoming a counselor. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in school counseling. I am originally from Buffalo, New York (Western New York) and made the move out to Vegas in 2015. I have loved all the educational experiences that Vegas has provided and I look forward to meeting you all! As we start a new school year, know that Mrs. Burkhardt and I are here to help make your middle school years run smoothly. My door is always open--please stop by to say hi and introduce yourself!
Ayesha Yacubic
Math Strategist, Geometry
I am excited to be a Jaguar as a mathematics teacher and strategist! I earned my Associate’s Degree in Mathematics from College of the Canyons, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from CSU Northridge, Master’s Degree in Education from Claremont Graduate University, and Reading Specialist License from UNLV. What can I say...I like learning! I have been teaching mathematics for over 6 years, but my math journey started a long time before that. Working in the Los Angeles museum industry for over 10 years, I saw firsthand how mathematics was used in business operations and project management. I decided to make a career change to teaching mathematics and have not turned back.
