Hello students and families! I am Burkholder’s school counselor for 6th graders (last names M-Z) and all 7th graders. I have a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in counseling. I have been working at the middle school level since 2010 and there is no place I would rather be! I am originally from North Dakota and moved to Henderson in 2019. As school counselors, Mrs. Bush and I are here to help students learn the skills necessary for academic, career, and social/emotional development. Hello Burkholder Jaguars! I am the counselor for 6th grade M-Z and 8th graders. Ms. Lopez has 6th grade A-L and 7th graders this year. Please feel free to email or call us with any questions. We are proud to be recognized as the first and only CCSD secondary school that is RAMP (Recognized American School Counseling Model Program) certified. We provide many services for our students including classroom guidance, small group, individual, student recognition programs, system support, and crisis response. We are here to support your educational needs and to help you reach your highest potential. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us. I am proud to be a Jaguar. This is my 20th year in CCSD, and my 26th year in education. Prior to becoming a school counselor in 1995, I was a special education teacher in Arizona and in Ohio. Born and raised in Northern Ohio, I am a proud Youngstown State graduate (GO 'GUINS). I was humbled to be inducted into the Youngstown State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007 where I was fortunate to have played volleyball and had my education paid in full; hard work does pay off! Most importantly, I am married to Tim Bush and we have two amazing children. Tim is a former Marine and is currently an Adapted PE teacher for CCSD. Korina, our oldest, is currently serving in the US Army as an Intelligence Analyst. She is also a paratrooper and enjoys jumping out of airplanes. She was a proud Foothill HS volleyball and football stand out. She recently married another solider, Matthew, and they are stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Elise, our youngest, is a former Jaguar herself and loves soccer and all other things sports. She now is a Foothill Falcon and plays soccer there and plans to run track. Lastly, I have a Jack Russell Terrier (or Terrorist) named Kasey that at 10 lbs, believes she runs the household. When I am not working or watching soccer, I enjoy playing tennis and working out.
My name is Mrs. Sellinger and I am pleased to be part of the Burkholder staff. I am proud to say that I have been a teacher in Clark County School District for over twenty years. I am a graduate of Oregon State University. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Early Childhood and I also received a Master’s Degree from Southern Oregon State University in Education with an emphasis in Reading. I was raised in the Boulder City and after graduating college was happy to return to the area to teach and raise my family. I enjoy spending reading and traveling with my family. I am dedicated to the success of all students and look forward to working along side Burkholder families.
