Good Morning to all of our new and returning Jaguar families!
This is your assistant principal, Dr. Maleskey. I wanted to give a quick update to our families regarding the 2022-2023 new school year.
First, please be advised that on Friday, August 5th, we will be hosting a "Welcome 6th Graders" event from 8 am - 9 am. At this event, incoming 6th graders and their families are welcome to come to our building, receive a printed schedule, pay any overdue fines, meet their teachers, and take a tour of the campus. Please be advised that this event is ONLY for incoming 6th graders and their families. Those who are unable to make it will receive their schedules on the first day of school in their homeroom classroom. Schedules will also be available at the end of the week through Infinite Campus.
Second, this year, all students will attend a short homeroom before their first period on the first day of school only. Another Parentlink will go out later this week with information on your child's homeroom classroom. Signs will be posted throughout the campus and staff will be available to help students find their homeroom. Other important first-day information will be made available to students during this homeroom period. If you attempt to access your child's schedule through Infinite Campus, please be advised that we only know it will be posted at the end of this week, and we do not currently have a hard date and time this will be available.
Third, Chromebooks will be distributed during your child's math class on the following dates:
Tuesday, 8/9, all 8th graders will receive their Chromebook.
Wednesday, 8/10, all 7th graders will receive their Chromebook.
Thursday, 8/11, all 6th graders will receive their Chromebook.
And on Friday, 8/12, any student who was not present to receive their Chromebooks on their assigned date will be escorted to the Innovation Center during their 1st period by a support staff member to receive their Chromebook.
Parents will need to sign the Chromebook agreement that students bring home on the first day in order to receive a Chromebook for their child.
Finally, please be advised that a date for Open House has not yet been selected. Once a date is established, this information will be shared with our families via Parentlink, our school website, through social media, and through our newsletter, the JagWire.
