Friday Reminders!

Happy Friday Burkholder Family,

A few reminders before the Thanksgiving Holiday...

1. Students will have their regularly-scheduled classes on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

2. Food services will not be giving out meals Wed-Fri of next week; however, on Tuesday, they will be sending home extra.

3. With the holidays and ongoing pandemic, we are all feeling a great deal of stress, especially our children. We want to remind our community that there are many resources available to your child and family including:

CLUBS! We STRONGLY encourage our students to get involved (virtually) by joining one of our awesome clubs this year as it provides a safe opportunity for our students to socialize and stay engaged with their school. Baking Club even has a fun Gingerbread House Making going on. For more information on clubs, please reach out to Mr. Nagy at: nagyzk@nv.ccsd.net

Evening tutoring! We know that our parents are working and or busy during school hours and feel overwhelmed trying to assist their children with academics. Contact Mrs. Sellinger at lockel@nv.ccsd.net for more information.

Counseling! The holidays are tough on everyone. If you feel your child would benefit from speaking with a counselor during these stressful times, please contact their counselor. Mrs. Bush can be reached at: bushjl@nv.ccsd.net (Students in 6th grade last names A-L and all 7th grade students) and Ms. Cady can be contacted at: cadymj@nv.ccsd.net (Students in 6th grade last names M-Z and all 8th grade students).

Access to social services! If your family is struggling and in need, please always feel free to contact our school social worker, Mrs. Groth at: grotha@nv.ccsd.net

You are not alone, Jaguars. These times are difficult, but Burkholder means family, and we are here for you when you need us! Stay well!

Technology Needs During Stay-At-Home 2.0

Good Morning Burkholder Families,

As you may be aware, per Governor Sisolak's Stay-at-Home 2.0 orders, Superintendent Jesus Jara has required all office personnel to work from home until December 1st. We understand that students may have technology needs during this time, so in order to meet these needs, we ask that the following Google Form be filled out if technology needs arise. This form is checked both morning and afternoon every weekday, so if you fill out this form, a staff member will follow up with your technology needs within 24 hours to give further instruction on when/how to pick up/trade in technology.

Another Survey (We Know.)-- But please take it. :-)

Good Morning Burkholder Family,

Today you will be receiving an email asking you to take the District's Annual survey, and while we FULLY appreciate that we are causing survey fatigue, we ask that you and your child take a few minutes to respond to this survey, as it provides vital information for our staff to act as better advocates for our students' and their families' needs.

While this distance learning may not be ideal, it is one of our top priorities, at Burkholder, to ensure our community has the opportunity to make their voices heard. It takes a village, and we are SO grateful for ours!

You can find the surveys here:

Hybrid Instruction Survey

Burkholder Parents/Guardians:

As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 health data, the District must proactively develop a plan to transition to the hybrid instructional model, while maintaining all health and safety protocols.

At this time, we do not know when the hybrid instructional model will be implemented. Please answer the short questionnaire at http://Ccsd.net/survey by November 9, 2020, for the cohort selection(s) for your children.

If the District transitions to the hybrid instructional model, this information will guide the District's implementation of the proposed transition to the hybrid instructional model. Thank you for your assistance.
